Filtration Group International

The unexpected COVID 19 pandemic disrupted the Filtration Group Industrial’s regular production schedule at its Shanghai site. All the more reason to conscientiously implement the corporate culture « Trust, Action Orientation & Entrepreneurship ». During the pandemic, the company not only focused on protecting its employees, but also relied on its own initiative to ensure a smooth resumption of production in the company. In the event that some production employees were not able to return to work on time, the Filtration Group Industrial had temporarily recalled some office staff to the production line for support. At the same time, the entire workforce demonstrated a shared sense of responsibility and gave up the weekend to ensure that orders could be delivered to customers on time. With a clear and feasible strategy, defined processes can be implemented very easily. The idea of « one team – one goal » plays a major role in this.

As of June 30, 2020, Filtration Group Industrial in Shanghai was already able to increase its incoming orders by 46% compared to the same period of the previous year. Sales also increased by 54.7% compared to the previous year. The local production volume had a clearly positive effect on the company’s profitability.

FGI staff during the workshop

At an internal employee workshop at the Shanghai site, management highlighted two key issues within the company. « Where are we going? And how are we going there? » On this day, Shane Hu, General Manager at the Shanghai site, tried to familiarize the employees with the company strategy through discussions and studies. To achieve the company’s goals, improving competitiveness is one of the most important points.

Today, competition among companies revolves around the entire value chain, which includes issues such as product design, cost control, supply chain stability, production efficiency, product quality and logistics. Therefore, the competitiveness of a company is in many ways closely linked to each point of the value chain and should be implemented in the specific work of each individual in each department. By the end of the workshop, the employees had understood what competitiveness is and how it can be improved through their own daily work.

Filtration Group Industrial took this year’s workshop as an opportunity to review its corporate culture and code of conduct. New colleagues signed the Code in a formal ceremony. Hang Low, President of the Filtration Group Industrial for Asia Pacific, congratulated the participants on a successful workshop and emphasized in his speech:  » FGI Shanghai has made great progress since the acquisition. The corporate culture has made a significant contribution to this. I wish the team to focus on its strategic goals and make the best of it ».
